adh-Open Lacrosse 2024

This was the adh-Open Lacrosse here in Kaiserslautern!

On the weekend of 13/14 July, the best universities competed against each other to win the ‘adh-Open’ title. After exciting and intense matches, the men from SG Aachen/Stuttgart and the women from Georg-Augustin-Universität Göttingen came out on top and were crowned this year's winners.

What is lacrosse?

Lacrosse combines elements of American football, hockey, ice hockey and football. It is considered to be the fastest team sport on two legs and has its origins in the Native American tribes of North America. Two teams of 10 players each try to hit a hard rubber ball the size of a tennis ball into the opponent's goal using a net racket. It is a very physical sport that requires speed and skill as well as strength and stamina. Just come along and have a look.

The adh-Open is played in the so-called "sixes variant", in which six athletes per team face each other. This variant promises a lot of speed and goals, but also challenges the participants in terms of tactics and speed.
