Every year, the General German University Sports Association (adh) organises competitions and tournaments where students and staff of universities from all over Germany can compete against each other. In total, there are over 50 events in various sports each year, organised by different universities.

Those who are particularly successful at a German university championship sometimes have the opportunity to qualify for and participate in international events.

The university sports department of the RPTU Kaiserslautern-Landau supports participants in taking part in the competition.
