Teufelstisch - stunning stoneformation


The last tick on the Bucketlist Pfalz, you may put at a very special place. The Teufelstisch (Devil's Table) in Hinterweidenthal in the Dahner Felsenland is a natural monument whose bizarre shape makes you wonder about the laws of physics once again.
The fact that the huge table top, holds on the so small seeming column and thus attracts numerous visitors, makes it the perfect last destination for our Bucketlist Pfalz. The surrounding adventure park Teufelstisch holds more such colorful rock formations ready and it is worth the one or the other hike here to undertake. It is especially beautiful here in the evening hours, when the red sandstone is illuminated by the sun and the colors glow even more intensively.

Highlights & Tipps

The entire Teufelstisch adventure park is a highlight. From educational panels about the origins of the rock formation, to a small rest area in the nearby birch grove, to a spring with a stream, there is a lot to discover here.
On the mingolf course you can also compete with your friends.

Various well-signposted hiking trails start from the adventure park, which will take you to other rocks and let you experience the beauty of the region.

How to get there

By public transport you can take the RB64 from the main station in Kaiserslautern to the main station in Pirmasens. Here you change the train to RB55 till Hinterweidental.Well signposted you walk about 15 minutes to the Teufelstisch.  For the entire route you need a little more than an hour.

Whether in winter, wrapped up in thick clothes and with a hot pot of tea or mulled wine in your backpack, or on a hot summer day - the Teufelstisch is always worth a visit and a highlight at any time of year.


Duration

You can spend a whole day here easily. With arrival and departure, a picnic at the Devil's Table and a short hike, the hours fly by.
