We cordially invite you to join us on a hike through the wintry Palatinate Forest. Our destination: the atmospheric Waldweihnacht at Johanniskreuz, a traditional Christmas market in the middle of the forest that delights visitors every year with its special ambience and regional specialties.
The starting point is the Kaiserslautern campus, from where we set off together and walk around 15 kilometers through the picturesque landscape of the Palatinate Forest. The walk takes around 5 hours. Winding paths, impressive forest views and the pre-Christmas tranquillity of nature await us along the way, a perfect opportunity to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and consciously experience the Advent season.
In the afternoon, we reach the festively decorated Johanniskreuz, where we have time to stroll through the Christmas market, discover regional arts and crafts and fortify ourselves with mulled wine, punch and hearty treats.
The return journey is made individually by public transport - shuttle buses run almost continuously from Johanniskreuz in the direction of Kaiserslautern and the surrounding area especially for the Waldweihnacht.
Please bring along:
- Weatherproof clothing and good footwear
- Sufficient food for on the way
- A cup
- Christmas accessory
