Join us on a sporty tour through the beautiful landscape of the Palatinate Forest, past impressive rock formations and through dense forests. We approach our destination via winding paths, which can be seen from afar: the ruins of Drachenfels Castle, which sits enthroned on the 367-metre-high castle hill near Busenberg. According to archaeologists, this former rock castle from the 12th century is one of the most historically significant sites in the Palatinate. From up there, we have a breathtaking view over the entire Dahner Felsenland, which forms a unique backdrop with its red sandstone cliffs and dense forests. The trail is challenging in places, so you should be athletic and have good surefootedness. But the effort is worth it: at the end, you will not only find a fascinating ruin full of history, but also a nature experience that perfectly combines exercise and adventure.
Course program
We will start together in Darstein and make our way along narrow paths. Always passing rock formations, at the end of the day we will be able to look back on a trail of approx. 23 km and 540 meters in altitude. We will take a break together at the most beautiful points and eat our well-earned snacks and sandwiches. All along the way, we will immerse ourselves in times gone by and the stories of the forest. Join us on the way!
