Unisport in Kaiserslautern is generally open to anyone interested.
The only requirement is a valid access pass (e.g., Unisport subscription, day pass, etc.). For RPTU students, the Unisport subscription is free and is automatically added to your WebApp account. Everyone else can purchase tickets and subscriptions through the WebApp.

The main entrance is located at Paul-Ehrlich-Straße 28 and consists of two turnstiles next to the entrance to Building 28. From here, you can access all the outdoor sports facilities and also enter Building 28 (sports hall).
The East Entrance is located on the upper level of the UNISPORT facilities, near the Biology Department garden and below the climbing tower here. There is a swing gate there, so access is possible, for example, with a stroller. Please use this entrance especially when visiting Kitzland.
The Peak 17 climbing tower has its own entrance, next to the Unisport East Entrance. A separate access pass is required here.
If you have a valid card or a valid Unisport (Kids) Subscription, you can pass through the turnstiles or gates using a QR code or RFID tag.
Each entrance is equipped with both a QR code scanner and an RFID reader.
To gain access via QR code, navigate to the “My QR Codes” section in the WebApp and select the correct one. Hold the code up to the QR code scanner at the turnstile to open it.
To gain access using an RFID card, you must first register the card (e.g., RPTU ID or Unisport card) at the WebApp terminal in the lobby of Building 28 (sports hall). This process is described below. Once there, hold the RFID card up to the RFID reader at the turnstile or gate to open it.
Note: We recommend using RFID cards, as they work reliably regardless of lighting or weather conditions.
Thanks to the turnstiles at the main entrance, you can go outside from inside at any time without having to scan a QR code or RFID tag.
To open the gate at the East Entrance to exit the premises, there is a QR code reader or RFID scanner on the inside where you can scan the QR code or RFID tag you used to enter the facility.
You do not have to use the same turnstile or gate to exit that you used to enter.
After leaving the premises, you can re-enter at any time with a valid Subscription or day pass.
If you’re visiting Kitzland and bringing a stroller or children’s vehicles, please use the East Entrance, where a swing gate provides ample space. This also applies to using the pump track on a bicycle.
Wheelchair access is available through the sports hall foyer.
The gates will be open for attendees of events (e.g., Uniliga and Chill&Grill), so there will be no need to use the turnstiles.
RFID Media (Transponder Media)
For subscriptions and multi-use cards, you can register RFID media (transponder media), such as your RPTU ID card or cards provided by Unisport.
The RFID cards must first be linked to your account. You can do this at the WebApp terminal in Building 28.
As an alternative to RFID media, all cards and Subscriptions allow you to pass through the turnstiles or gates using a QR code.
The WebApp Terminal is located in the lobby of Building 28 (Sports Hall), diagonally across from the Service Center. You can enter it from Paul-Ehrlich-Straße without having to go through any of the turnstiles or gates first.
You must have a valid Subscription to Unisport Kaiserslautern in the WebApp.
To register an RFID card, visit the lobby of Building 28 and log in to your WebApp account there.
Under “My Account,” “Add RFID Card,” you can register cards for yourself (e.g., your own Unisport Subscription) or, if you have children listed in the WebApp, for your children as well as for yourself as a parent’s card.
Under “My RFID Cards,” you can rename or delete your registered cards.
Detailed instructions for registering an RFID card are available on-site at the WebApp terminal.
When you’re done, don’t forget to log out! :)
Your RPTU ID card (student ID, staff ID) is one example of an RFID medium that works. Many other devices with NFC functionality also work.
Note on smartphones and smartwatches:
Unfortunately, not all smartphones and smartwatches can be used as RFID devices at Unisport KL. However, this depends on the specific device and is beyond our control if it doesn’t work for you. Sorry!
You can pick up an Unisport card at the Service Center. Your first card is free.
There are different types of cards: one for yourself (e.g., your Unisport subscription), one for one of your children, or a parent card (for “passive” accompaniment of your children at the facility).
If you need additional cards, they cost €10 each.
You can register your Unisport cards at the WebApp terminal in the lobby of Building 28, as described above.
As an alternative to RFID cards, you can always access the facility using QR codes.
For each Unisport Kids subscription, you’ll receive one card for the child and up to two cards for accompanying parents (=parent cards). This is subject to both parents being registered in the web app and linked to the child’s account.
Each additional card (e.g., for grandparents, etc.) costs €10.
If only one parent and, for example, one grandparent are linked to the child, these two people will receive a card each.
No, RFID cards can only be registered at the WebApp terminal in the lobby of Building 28.
Registering RFID media takes just a few minutes.
To do this, you must have a valid Subscription or multi-visit pass in the WebApp and bring a working RFID tag to the terminal.
You can also use the turnstiles and gates with QR codes, which are linked to each valid Subscription or ticket in the web app.
Otherwise, free access to the grounds is only possible during special events.
You can only register each RFID card for one Subscription.
For example, if you have a Unisport subscription yourself and have children for whom you’ve purchased a Unisport Kids subscription, you must register different media for your own subscription and the Kids subscription.
Alternatively, you can also use the QR codes for each card and each Subscription.
You can also use a QR code to gain access, which you can view on your cell phone.
To do this, you must have a valid pass or Subscription in the WebApp, from which the QR code is displayed.
In the WebApp, under “My Account” > “My RFID Media,” you can delete registered media so that no one can access the facility using your card or Subscription.
Alternatively, the RFID card can also be deactivated for you at the Service Center.
If you’ve lost your RFID card at Unisport KL, you can ask about lost and found items at the Service Center.
If you’d like a second Unisport card (e.g., after losing one), it costs €10.
The QR code scanner is much more sensitive than the RDIF reader. If you encounter problems at the turnstile, try shielding the scanner from the light with your hand, increasing the brightness of your phone's screen, or adjusting the angle. Unfortunately, the scanner will not work if the screen is broken.
Please stop by the Service Center or give them a call.
Please pay special attention to the following special cases.
To access Kitzland, you should always use the East Entrance, which is stroller-friendly and offers the shortest route to Kitzland within the resort itself.
You can only reach Peak 17 through the Peak 17 entrance. With a Peak 17 pass, you cannot pass through any other turnstile or gate on the premises.
If you did not receive the necessary information regarding access for your group as part of your booking, please check in at the Service Center when you arrive.
In the WebApp, under “My Account” > “My RFID Media,” you can delete registered media so that no one can access the facility using your card or Subscription.
Alternatively, the RFID card can also be deleted for you at the Service Center.
If you’ve lost your RFID card at Unisport KL, you can ask about lost and found items at the Service Center.
If you’d like a second Unisport card (e.g., after losing one), it costs €10.
The Unisport Service Center is staffed during regular business hours. It is located in the lobby of Building 28 and can be accessed without first passing through any of the turnstiles or gates.
