Wildlife park - Palatinate Wildlife

The next highlight and the fourth item on our Kaiserslautern bucket list awaits you in the south-east of Lautern, in the middle of the forest. Combining a leisurely forest hike with "wild animals"? Normally not a good idea, but highly recommended here. In Kaiserslautern's wildlife park, just behind the Betzenberg, you can experience Palatinate forest inhabitants such as deer, wild boar and stags up close. But ex-inhabitants that no longer exist in the wild in our forest, such as wild horses or bison, also accompany you on your walk. A fence protects you from unwanted proximity to the animals. A pleasure of the animal kind, all year round and at any time of day - 24/7. One buffalo and back can be done in under two hours, costs nothing and there's one or two fabulous photo opportunities on top. Rating: Instagrammable.

Highlights & Tips

The wildlife park is also a special highlight in the early hours of the morning. Our tip - Buffalo Breakfast: The viewing platform by the bisons is all to yourself early in the morning. With a croissant and coffee, you can let your gaze wander over the "prairie" as the sun rises.

If you still have a little time afterwards, you can stay for the feeding times.

Monday - Friday09:00 - 10:00 and 14:00 - 15:00

Saturday, Sunday and public holidays 09:00 - 10:00

Guided, free tours of the park (also in English) can be arranged on request by e-mail or telephone.
