Sunrise @ Humbergturm

The number 1 on our Lautr bucket list towers about 200 meters above Kaiserslautern and offers a fantastic view over the entire city and the seemingly endless forest area. In short: the Humbergtum. After climbing 163 steps, the small viewing platform offers a 360° panoramic view of the campus, the Betzenberg and a sea of forest to the south.

An absolute must for every RPTU student. Just under an hour's walk from the campus along narrow forest paths, this Lauterer highlight is particularly suitable for a sunrise tour of the tower. If you get out of bed early, pack your rucksack and make your way up to the tower with tired eyes and a headlamp before your first coffee, you will be rewarded with a sunrise that will quickly make you forget your everyday worries and the tiredness of the still young day. Pour a cup of coffee, put on your sunglasses and start the day relaxed.

Important: check the weather beforehand. Look for a cloudless morning and start at the campus at least one hour before sunrise.

Be careful: it's easy to get lost, especially in the lower area. If you have never walked this route before, it is better to start at Bremer Hof or take a local with you.
