VR Training

At UNIFIT, you have the opportunity to do your fitness training in the virtual world! Using VR glasses, you can train in an environment specially developed at RPTU and be guided through strengthening, mobility, endurance and stretching exercises in a fun way. VR training is suitable for everyone and you can use it to achieve a wide range of training goals!

Joint development

The offer was developed in a collaboration between the Chair of Serious Games Engineering and the Student Health Management CampusPlus (funded by Techniker Krankenkasse). The concept was taken up at UNIFIT and further developed as virtual fitness training together with CampusPlus.

Target group and training programs

VR training is suitable for achieving a wide range of training objectives and can be used by all target groups. People who wear glasses can also carry out VR training with the aid of an attachment.

Strengthening - basic and advanced
→ ideal as mobility training and warm-up or cool-down program

Endurance - basic and advanced
→ ideal as an endurance unit in the training plan

Procedure
  1. For your first VR training session, you reserve a pair of VR glasses at the Infopoint. You will receive instruction from a UNIFIT trainer and learn how to use the VR goggles and environment.
  2. You don't need to make a reservation in advance for your next VR training session. Simply come to the Infopoint and borrow an available VR headset. You can then carry out your training on your own.
  3. VR goggles can only be borrowed for 30 minutes and only in return for a deposit (ID document).
