workshop: Hike to Forest Christmas at Johanniskreuz
We warmly invite you to join us on a hike through the wintery Palatinate Forest. Our destination: the charming Waldweihnacht (Forest Christmas) at Johanniskreuz, a traditional Christmas market in the middle of the forest that delights visitors every year with its special atmosphere and regional specialties. The starting point is the Kaiserslautern campus, from where we will set off together and hike about 15 kilometers through the picturesque landscape of the Palatinate Forest. The pure walking time is around 5 hours. Along the way, we can expect winding paths, impressive forest views, and the pre-Christmas tranquility of nature—a perfect opportunity to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and consciously experience the Advent season. In the afternoon, we will reach the festively decorated Johanniskreuz, where we will have time to stroll through the Christmas market, discover regional arts and crafts, or fortify ourselves with mulled wine and hearty snacks. The return journey is individual by public transport – buses run almost continuously from Johanniskreuz to Kaiserslautern and the surrounding area.
