Soccer tournament between RPTU, DFKI and HITS

On Friday, October 10, 2025, the teams from RPTU Kaiserslautern, DFKI gGmbH and the HITS team competed against each other in a soccer tournament in the Unisport Soccer Cage. The tournament was led by referee Kurt Niederberger, who also donated the trophy.

In the opening match, the HITS team achieved a convincing 4:1 victory against DFKI gGmbH. In the following match, HITS faced the well-coordinated team of coach and co-organizer Jürgen Uhl from RPTU. HITS reduced the deficit to 2:1 before half-time and kept the game open before the home team played to its strengths in the second half. Two aluminum goals prevented a possible equalizer, so that RPTU finally extended its lead to 6:1 with some remarkable combinations. In the third game of the first round, RPTU Kaiserslautern faced DFKI gGmbH and won clearly 10:0. Despite the clear result, the DFKI team deserved the consolation goal - the ball landed on the post twice.

The RPTU team thus secured the title of tournament winner.

After the first official round, the teams agreed to play a second round with a shorter duration. Once again, the sporting ambition of all participants was evident. DFKI played a thrilling game against RPTU Kaiserslautern, but was narrowly defeated 3:4. The HITS team then shone against the now exhausted RPTU team and won confidently 9:1. HITS also showed its class in the last game of the day against DFKI and won clearly.

The trophy was presented to the winning team at the barbecue that followed. In a convivial atmosphere, all the players took the opportunity to chat and look back on the exciting matches of the day.

Conclusion: A successful tournament with fair matches, sporting commitment and a great atmosphere - and the most important thing: no injuries.
