workshop: Keschdewanderung

In keeping with the season and chestnut season, this autumnal hike takes you along the famous “Pälzer Keschdeweg” trail – an ideal tour for enjoying golden October in the Southern Palatinate. The starting point is Albersweiler, where the route first takes us over the Kirchberg hill on the edge of the Haardt hills towards Zollstock, offering autumnal views of the Rhine valley and the Palatinate Forest. A special highlight of the hike is the path past the Neukastel castle ruins, which rise picturesquely above the slopes of the Palatinate Forest. From there, the trail leads down through the vineyards towards Leinsweiler and Eschbach, two charming wine-growing villages nestled between vines and slopes. After passing through the vineyards, the trail plunges back into the quiet forest. The last few kilometers lead through shady paths and autumnal chestnut forests towards Annweiler am Trifels, where the approximately 17-kilometer route ends.
