Every month, the Stifterverband awards the Higher Education Pearl of the Month to innovative projects at universities in order to raise their profile. We were proud to receive this award with Game of TUK in September 2019. At the end of the year, there was still a vote for the Higher Education Pearl of the Year between the 12 award winners. In 2019, the prize was awarded to two winners for the first time after an exciting battle; in addition to RPTU with Game of TUK, Saarland University won the award with the lecture "Ethics for Nerds". "The game 'Game of TUK' combines the analogue world with the new digital possibilities in an exciting way," praised the Stifterverband jury. "App-based games and offline competitions suitable for everyday life motivate students in a playful way to exercise more and be more active in sports - essential conditions for health and well-being." We promoted the vote with the campaign "SMS for more hammocks". With the prize money from the University Pearl of the Year, we will build a hammock park for you.

At the final conference of the "Bewegt studiert - Studieren bewegt" project of the adh and the TK in Berlin, Game of TUK was awarded as one of five best practice examples. In addition, the game convinced the audience at the symposium "Student Health Management" in Frankfurt. They voted the team from Kaiserslautern Unisport into first place in the innovation award.
